Why is ‘pemakai menua’, ‘pulau galau’ land not included in survey?
PARTI Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is not satisfied with the answer provided by Special Function Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office Tan Sri Adenan Satem pertaining to NCR perimeter survey.
They claimed that Adenan failed give assurance that the NCR perimeter survey would include the ‘pemakai menu’ (communal land) and ‘pulau galau’ (reserved forest land). State PKR chief Baru Bian said the party was expecting Adenan to give assurance in the winding up speech yesterday that the on-going NCR perimeter survey was to include both ‘pemakai menua’ and ‘pulau galau’.
According to him, the ‘pemakai menua’ and ‘pulau galau’ were of special concern to the NCR land owners, which was raised by Ali Biju (PKR-Krian) when debating the Budget speech on Friday.
“He (Adenan) has failed to clarify the issue of ‘pemakai menua’ and ‘pulau galau’ in his winding up speech. As such, he was not adhering to the Federal Court decision in 2006 which said the NCR land would include pemakai menua and pulau galau land,” Baru told a press conference yesterday.
In the landmark case of Nor Nyawi and confirmed by Madeli Salleh in 2006, the Federal Court ruled that NCR land also include ‘pemakai menua’ and ‘pulau galau’. He said that Adenan also failed to give the amount of compensation to be paid to the owners if the land were taken by the government.
