Adenan NCR land survey will be settled gradually

LUNDU: The government never fails the people’s request as their issue regarding the measurement of the Native Customary Rights lands will be settled gradually.

Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Special Function) Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Adenan Haji Satem said ever since he was elected to become the State Assemblyman, he had made himself a promise to bring the development to the people and will put more effort to settle each and every problem.

“We cannot settle a problem simultaneously, as there are a lot of other matters to be given attention too, hence a systematic al way is very important” he said during the grant handover ceremony of Tanjong Datu at Lundu Community Hall yesterday.

According to Adenan, the meas urement of the NCR boundaries at Kampung Telok Melano and Kampung Telok Serabang is one of the government efforts to ensure the residents know the boundaries and size of their village land.

“Once the measurement of the lands is being carried out I foresee there will be a lot of other problems to surface. Village residents do not have any verification document of land ownership and this will create problem when development projects are to be carried out on the land, especially when coming to compensation,” he said.

That is the reason why the village residents should not be doubtful about government effort in measuring the land, as once the NCR letter is obtained there is no more doubt about ownership.

Adenan said the kampung people who had been given the grants should make good use of the facilities.

“I have received reports that there is a group of recipients of the oil subsidy who were found selling the subsidised oil to a third party,” he said.

Apart from that around 70 per cent of the residents in Lundu area now enjoy clean water and electric source.

“Now I am still struggling to make sure the balance of the 30 per cent will be benefiting from the basic necssit1es because I do not want a situation where there are people being left behind and not benefiting from the development wave,” he said.

Earlier, Adenan presented the grant and assistance worth RM616,500 to 46 recipients as well as grants to 30 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) of Tanjong Darn amounting RM15,000 plus fuel subsidies amounting RM116,370 to 223 recipients.

Also present at the event were Lundu District Officer Azmi Hail Bujang and Land and Survey Superintendent of Kuching District Taib Haji Belal.
