The Department hosted a LASIS briefing to the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Malaysia, Yang Berhormat Dato Sri Douglas Uggah Embas on 12^th March 2010 at Land and Survey Headquarters Office. The briefing was conducted by Tuan Haji Brahim Lumpu (Assistant Director Land) on Department Profile and NCR Policies, Lim Khing Chong (Information System Manager) on Land and Survey Information System (LASIS), Abdullah Julaihi (Superintendent Kuching) on One Day Registration and Zaidi Haji Mahdi (Assistant Director Valuation) on Renewal of Land Leases and Land Acquisition.

 Live demonstration of the functionalities of LASIS was conducted by Senior Valuer, Hardi Fadillah Hamzah and Senior Town Planner, Fatehi Marzuki during the visit.

Among the officers accompanying the Minister were the Director General of Lands and Mines (PTG), Dato’ Abd Halim bin Ain and Director General of Survey and Mapping (JUPEM), Dato’ Prof. Sr Dr. Abdul Kadir Bin Taib. 

The Minister was very impressed with the capabilities of LASIS especially the speedy registration of land instruments in one day as well as the security features of LASIS against land forgery. During the press conference, the Minister recommended that LASIS be adopted a model Land System for the rest of the nation.
