Perimeter survey on NCR land in Manggut begins
SPAOH : Perimeter survey on some 308 hectares of Native Customary Rights (NCR) land in Kampung Manggut here, under the New NCR Initiative Plan, will began this week.
Betong Land Officer David Laeng said Kampung Manggut is second area in Betong division to have the perimeter survey works done under the new initiative. The first is at Kampung Serembang.
“NCR land in Kampung Manggut and Serembang are mostly owned by the Malays who had applied for perimeter survey to be conducted under the new NCR initiative.
“We are glad that the Betong Lands and Survey has finally fulfilled the request from the two villagers,” he said at a dialogue regarding the new NCR Initiative at Masjid Darul Ehsan in Kampung Manggut recently.
Meanwhile, Laeng urged all the land owners to give their fullest cooperation to the department so that it could carry out the survey works smoothly.
An assistant would assist the officer to identify the NCR boundary so that the department could complete its work faster, he said.
The department is also targeting to complete perimeter survey of NCR land in the Long Aton area near Tinjar within a month based on the assistance and cooperation of the people there.
Penghulu Haji Sulaiman Haji Taha, on behalf of the village, expressed his gratitude to the state government for the perimeter survey of their NCR land and gazette the land under Section 6 of the State Land Code.
Also present was Betong Deputy Resident Fatehi Kerni, Superintendent of Land and Survey Peggy Ronin Edin, Penhulu Sulaiman Taha and Ketua Kaum Kawi Dollah.
