BINTULU: Native Customary Rights (NCR) land new initiative continues in Kuala Segan, as the sixth piece of land in the area, which is the Sungai Sengab area, gets measured and surveyed in two weeks’ time.
The 181-hectare piece of land will be surveyed as requested by NCR land owners there, said Bintulu division Land and Survey Superintendent, Ramzi Abdillah.
“The Land and Survey aims to complete all survey works in this area (Kuala Segan) by mid June this year and hopefully with the cooperation from the (land) owners, all survey works can be in due time,” said Ramzi.
He was speaking at dialogue session on the NCR issue for the people of Sungai Sengab, at the Kampung Kuala Segan’s surau, yesterday.
“Today’s dialogue is a continuation of the ‘Round Table’ discussion held on 21 April, which had been the department’s practice since the survey works were implemented,” he said.
Ramzi urged NCR land owners to provide clear and complete information on locations or pieces of land to be surveyed to assist the department in carrying out the works.
He explained that cooperation from the owners are vital for smooth process and will help Land and Survey Department staffs in carrying out the survey.
He added that surveyed locations will be gazetted as Rizab Gunasama Bumiputera (native reserve) under the Section 6 of Land Code whereby all gazetted locations will be declared as the respective community’s legal property.
NCR survey, he said, is a continuous process that will continue until the end of the 10th Malaysia Plan.
