KAPIT:  The perimeter survey of NCR lands under the new initiative for this district this year has begun at Sungai Belawai.

For this year, the first areas to be surveyed starting last January are Sungai Belawai and Sungai Menuan which involve three survey parties from Kapit Land and Survey Department, said Superintendent Alfian Bawi 

“The NCR perimeter survey at Sungai Belawai involving some 15 longhouses covering 4,864 hectares which began last month was carried out under Section 6 of the Land Code while the land titles would be issued under Section 18 of the same code,” Alfian said when officiating at a perimeter survey at Rumah  Kemarau, Nanga Trusa, Belawai recently. 

Alfian added that a total of 12 areas had been approved to carry out the perimeter survey involving 66,323 hectares in Kapit and Song districts.

The inaugural survey work began toward the end of last year at Rumah Achan, Sungai Amang, at KM5 Jalan Selirik near here.

He appealed to the NCR owners and the longhouse communities along to Sungai Belawai to give their full co-operation to ensure the survey works were carried out smoothly.
