BINTULU: Communication between the department and the local communities is of utmost importance in carrying out New Initiatives programme under the native customary rights (NCR) land, said Bintulu Superintendent of Land and Survey, Ramzi Abdillah.
“In ensuring that the new initiative is carried out successfully, I urge all the landowners to give their full cooperation to the (Land and Survey) department when the measuring works are going on.
“With full cooperation from the landowners, it is hoped that the measuring works will be completed soon,” said Ramzi.
He added that the local residents should act as information agents to provide relevant information regarding the NCR New Initiatives, while at the same time providing clear information on the locations that were to be measured.
Ramzi was saying this at a dialogue session with the villagers on the New Initiatives of NCR Land Measurement at Rumah William Ajan, Sg. Sujan, Pandan, Sebauh, yesterday.
The area, covering approximately 3,058 hectares and involving 522 applicants, is the fourth area in the district here to be measured under the NCR New Initiatives.
A committee at the Land and Survey Department had been set up to function as a channel for lodging complaints and problems regarding the NCR New Initiatives.
