Ministry’s personnel told to provide high quality service
KUCHING : Officers and staff of the Ministry Resource Planning and Environment and all the agencies under its jurisdiction have been urged to continuously increase their efforts to provide good and high quality services to the people.
Minister of Resource planning and Environment II, Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan stressed that to be able to provide high and good quality service to the people, officers and staff must work as a team.
“We have to work as a team, develop closer relationship and have exchange of ideas and be creative and innovative in what we are doing. Because the whole thing is so dynamic and we have to improve ourselves from time to time, and we have no choice,” Tengah said.
He said this at a Majlis Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri of the Ministry of Resource Planning and Environment at Pullman Hotel, here Thursday night.
Tengah said the Ministry and the agencies under it played a very important role in the development process of the state. He said the number of agencies involved is small, but with the commitment and the dedication of its staff, it has been able to ensure its responsibilities are carried out well.
Tengah said they must be committed in order to increase productivity and improve delivery to the stakeholders.
“I hope we will work closely,” he said, adding policy is one thing, and mostly importantly is the implementation aspects.
“We have drawn out our policies on land use policy, policy on balanced development, on preservation, environmental factors, from the aspects of town planning, the major cities, the secondary towns, small towns and RGCs. etc.
“With that as the guidelines we have been able to implement all this and I am proud to say here that our towns were well planned and even outsiders were impressed” he said.
Tengah said he had also made the decision to speed up the process of survey NCR lands through the perimeter survey.
Also present were State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Datuk Arnar Haji Mohamad Asfia Bin Awang Nassar, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Development) and Assistant Minister of Resource Planning Dutuk Haji Naroden Majais as well as Assistant Minister of Environment Datu Haji Len Talif Salleh.
Others present included Assistant Minister of Community Development and Assistant Minister of Industrial Development (industrial Estate Development), Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie Assistant Minister of industrial Development (Investment and PromotIon) Datuk Haji Julaihi Bin Haji Narawi and Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Resource Planning and Environment Datu Sudarsono Osman.
At the function seven staff members of the Ministry were presented with Excellent Service Awards by Tengah.
