Pol-sec denies having Facebook account

MIRI: Robert Laing, a political secretary to the Chief Minister, has denied having any Facebook account and slammed those behind a fake one that bears his name.

He stressed that he has never posted anything on the social networking site and definitely had nothing to do with the Long Terawan Native Customary Rights (NCR) land perimeter survey.

“The Facebook account under the name ‘Robert Laing’ does not belong to me and whoever created the account must have a hidden agenda.

“The comment posted on the Facebook account urged Long Terawan folk to invite lawyers namely Harrison Ngau, Baru Bian and Abun Sui to give an in-depth explanation about the perimeter survey under Section 6 of the Land Code,” he said yesterday.

Robert said whoever created the account and made the comment should go and see him directly.

“I would never make a comment like that. This Facebook account must be created by those who are trying to make things worse for Long Terawan folk and the NCR land perimeter survey in their village,” he said.

Robert urged long Terawan folk not to believe everything they read on social networking sites as the sites could be spreading lies created by irresponsible parties.

Long Terawan folk recently announced in the media that they supported the NCR land perimeter survey by the land and Survey Department under the government’s New NCR Land Initiative.
