Perimeter survey well received by NCR land owners - Adenan

LIMBANG: The perimeter survey initiative for native customary rights (NCR) land has been well received by landowners since its implementation in July 2010.

This is proven by the fact that the Land and Survey Department has received lots of applications for their lands to be surveyed under the programme and the process is ongoing, said Special Functions Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem.

“As long as the application is legit, Land and Survey Department will carry out perimeter survey on the NCR land according to the name lists received from applicants and the process is on going,” he said at the ceremony to hand over titles under Section 6 Bumiputera Communal Gazette Reserve (Agriculture) for Limbang Division yesterday.

He told landowners not to worry about the status of their lands once they were gazetted.

“The gazette will prevent any conflict and trespassing of land border. The government is committed to recognise each of the landowners by implementing the NCR perimeter survey,” he added.

Earlier he said a total of 12 areas under Limbang Division had been gazetted, which involved 4,085.5 hectares.

He added that two more areas in the division would also be gazetted, involving Kampung Bakol/Melaban with 184 hectares and Kampung Palas/ Lubuk Simpor with 82 hectares.

He further said the following seven areas were still on the waiting list - Kampung Pandak Limbang, Pengkalan Gurah, Melanjan, Ranggau, Reda, Semabat and Kampung Lintang Lawas.

Another four areas undergoing gazette drafting are Kampung Berawan, Ranggu/
Pangkalan Jawa, Kampung Paya Mengaliong and Kampung Induk Sangkar.
