KUCHING: One of Sarawak football’s familiar names is making a return to the spotlight, with Landas FC eager to revive its legacy in the 2026 K-LSC League.

The team returns with a fresh look under the guidance of two former Sarawak players, with Sahrol Saperi appointed as head coach and Mohd Zaidol Mohd Zain as assistant coach.

This season, Landas FC is banking on a blend of experienced former Sarawak and Kuching City players, alongside several new faces.

The return of this once-renowned side to the prestigious league stage for the first time since 2012 is expected to pose a serious threat to its rivals.

The club is also entering this season with its own clear mission and vision.

On Monday (Jun 22), the team’s official jersey presentation ceremony was officiated by Land and Survey Sarawak Director Datu Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood at his office.

“We have high hopes of seeing this squad deliver its best performance.

“At the very least, we want Landas FC to finish among the top teams in the competition,” he said in his brief address during the ceremony.

He reminded the players to remain disciplined, stay focused throughout every match, and maintain a strong fighting spirit.

The 2026 K-LSC League will feature six teams. The other participating teams are Yayasan Sarawak, ZZ United, ABF U23, TBS 23 and KCFC Academy.

Landas FC will open its campaign against Yayasan Sarawak on Jun 27 at Padang D, Petra Jaya.
