Premier witnesses appointment of DBKU commissioners

KUCHING (May 27): Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday witnessed the appointment of Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) commission members.

Their term of appointment is until March 31, 2028, according to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit report.

The 10 appointed commission members are State Attorney-General Dato Sri Saferi Ali, State Financial Secretary Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, Deputy State Secretary Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Land and Survey Department director Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, Public Works Department state director Dr Cassidy Morris, Sih Hua Tong, Talhah @ Talha Affendi, Abdul Baderi Sahmat, Iskandar Sharkawi, and Abdul Adzim Adzmi Abdul Rahman.

According to the report, the commission members are expected to play a key role in linking the community with the city’s administration, formulating policies, and ensuring citizen participation in the physical and socio-economic development of Kuching North.

“This in line with DBKU’s aspiration to strengthen inclusive, transparent and responsive governance that meets the needs of the community,” it added.
