KAPIT: The Sarawak Government will continue the Native Customary Rights (NCR) land survey programme as an effort to protect the ownership rights of the land.

Deputy Minister of Digital, Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong said this initiative is also in line with Sarawak's development aspirations under the slogan ‘Sarawak Maju Makmur’.

He said that the NCR land survey is proof of the government's commitment to ensuring that the people's native lands continue to be secured and can be developed for the benefit of future generations.

"This is proof of the government's concern in ensuring that our ancestral lands continue to be secured and can be developed in the future," he said.

He spoke to officiate the Section 18 NCR Land Survey Dialogue at Rumah Melinggang, Sungai Majau, Mujong, here recently.

The Member of Parliament for Hulu Rajang also called on the Land and Survey Department to carry out the surveying process systematically and efficiently to ensure clearer land ownership.

Also present at the event were Baleh Assemblyman, Nicholas Kudi Jantai, Pelagus Assemblyman, Wilson Nyabong Ijang, department heads, community leaders, and local residents. -UKASnews
