Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri, stated that land compensation payments for SPK Roban Phase Two have been completed.
“Meanwhile, SPK Kupang and Hulu Saratok have also been approved, but we are awaiting the Land and Survey Department (JTS) to finalise the next procedures soon,” he said.
He mentioned this when officiating at the Land Compensation Cheque Presentation Ceremony for the SPK Roban Phase Two Project here yesterday.
Mohamad explained that this initiative aims to provide opportunities for residents without land to build houses.
“Previously, I applied for all three SPK projects due to the high population density. In one house, there are often two to three families, sometimes even up to five.
“So, when Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg approved the application, I was very grateful.
“I also urge JTS to expedite the subsequent processes,” he added.
Regarding the compensation paid by the Sarawak government yesterday, it involved the Sabit area in Roban, covering 28.71344 hectares (22 lots).
A total of 29 cheques amounting to over RM5 million were presented to 20 landowners.
Betong Division Resident Richard Michael, Betong Division Land and Survey Superintendent Moris Nayup, and Saratok District Officer Muhammad Dino Amid were also present.
