KUCHING: The Sarawak government is intensifying efforts to address delays in the Borneo Samariang Resort City Project, developed by Sentoria Borneo Land Sdn Bhd.

Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development), Datuk Seri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, assessed the project’s stalled status here today (Dec 13).

As of Nov 21 this year, four blocks — Blocks 4, 5, 9, and the Ataria Serviced Apartment — have shown no significant progress, despite multiple agreements signed for constructing single-storey terrace units and serviced apartments.

For Blocks B4, B5, and B9, a substantial number of units remain uncompleted, with only 243, 275, and 189 units approved, respectively.

Additionally, the elevated water tank utility remains incomplete, and only 420 units have been approved for the Ataria Serviced Apartment.

Also present during the site visit were Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, Abu Bakar Sepawi; Deputy Controller of Housing, Konsil Genam; and Sarawak Land and Survey Department (Operations) Deputy Director, Norlina Ra’ee.
