KOTA SAMARAHAN: Landowners with Native Customary Rights (NCR) are urged to retain their land, especially in fast-developing areas like Samarahan.
Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, said that the value of land will continue to rise in tandem with the ongoing development in the area.
He added that this trend is further fuelled by high demand in the land market, despite limited supply.
“Everywhere, we know that land prices will always rise and never decrease. The human population increases, but land remains static.
“From an economic perspective, the supply of land will not increase, but demand will. Therefore, land prices will rise, particularly in Samarahan, where development is currently booming,” he said after officiating at the presentation of land titles and compensation cheques for projects in Samarahan Division at Dewan Seminar, INTAN Kota Samarahan, today.
He represented Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at the event.
Abdul Karim, who is also the Asajaya assemblyman, noted that various mega development projects, such as a port and an airport, are expected to be implemented in Samarahan.
“Therefore, the spillover from any mega projects will benefit Samarahan,” he added.
He further urged NCR landowners not to sell their land, emphasising its future benefit for their generations.
