Four groups from Sarawak for international QCC convention in China

KUCHING:
Four groups from departments and agencies under the Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources (MUDeNR) have been selected to compete in the upcoming 48th International Convention on Quality Control Circles (QCC) 2023.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the groups are namely Land and Survey Department (Sassoku Tech and Vtech-12) (two) and one group each from Sarawak Forestry Department (Boorneensis-2) and Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation  (Sharks).

“The convention will be held in China from Oct 30 to Nov  2, and I wish them all the best.

“I hope they will succeed and be an inspiration among the public servant in Sarawak,” he said.

He said this in his speech during the closing ceremony of the MUDeNR’s Creative and Innovation Group (KIK) Convention at Pullman Hotel here yesterday (Sep 14).

The second Minister of Urban Development and Natural Resources urged the public sector to improve and the culture of innovation and creative.


This is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of deliverance of public service at the most optimum level as possible.

“That being said, aspects of creativity and innovation also needs to be stressed further and becoming the main focus in planning and implementing development project, especially when the country right now is facing difficult challenges and high expectations from clients and stakeholders,” he said.

He said public servants cannot afford to be left behind in the use of technology.

“In fact we need to also contribute and create new inventions that benefit the people of Sarawak,” he added.

Also present during the closing ceremony was State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Minister for Urban Planning Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh and MUDeNR permanent secretary Datuk Zaidi Mahdi.
