SERIAN: The Land and Survey Department (LSD) is set to commence surveying 205 lots for Kampung Tangga Plaman’s traditional village starting this December.
LSD Serian Division said that the exercise would adopt the Land Documentation Project approach introduced by the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA).
This proven method simplifies the process, expedites the measurement of residential and agricultural lots, and resolves boundary and ownership issues among family members and neighbours.
The department said this during the Field Dialogue Session on Traditional Village Lot Surveying held recently at Kampung Tangga Plaman, Serian.
LSD Serian Division added that the surveying work is expected to be fully completed by January 30 next year.
During the session, the department encouraged residents from neighbouring villages, including Kampung Tangga Plaman, Kampung Bunga Raya, and Kampung Siantan, to cooperate and support the effort for a smooth process.
Upon completion, landowners will receive lifetime ownership titles under Section 18 of the Sarawak Land Code at no cost.
