Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that, similar to PR1MA housing projects, they will also collaborate with the federal government in identifying suitable land for the project in the state.
“In terms of the detail, I have not look into it at the moment. However what is certain, any housing project will be implemented by the state government.
“If there is such programme, then of course we will cooperate. Like how the federal government cooperate with Sarawak Economic Development Coorperation (SEDC) previously on some of the housing project here.”
He said this when met by reporters after presenting land itles under Section 18 of Sarawak Land Code at Sri Singai Hall here on Thursday (Nov 28).
Recently, Minister Nga Kor Ming said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to unveil an affordable housing project next month backed by a RM13bil investment.
“This substantial investment demonstrates the government’s commitment to making housing accessible for all, especially civil servants who will be given the opportunity to own affordable homes,” he said this recently.
This was also in response towards another report, revealing that 688,663 out of 1.3 million civil servants still do not own homes, with the majority being from the implementation group.
