Refund of Advance Land Rent

Do you own any landed property which usage is for agricultural or residential purposes? 
Did you pay the rents in advance in 2016 and after?

  • If so, we are pleased to inform you that with effect from 15.03.2016 the State Government of Sarawak has abolished all land rents for land conditioned for residential and agricultural purposes with an area of less than 100 acres (40.47 hectares).

  • Proprietors of land within the category mentioned above are entitled for a refund.

How to apply for refund of land rent?

STEP 1:

Obtain Refund Of Advance Land Rent Form (Form A, B and C) from any Divisional office of the Land and Survey Department (L&S) or download via www.landsurvey.sarawak.gov.my.


STEP 2:

Fill in the particulars required in the Form and attach relevant supporting documents as stated below:

Application by individuals

  • A photocopy of the proprietor’s Identity Card,
  • A photocopy of quit rent booklet showing proof of advance land rent paid; and
  • A photocopy of the front page of the proprietor’s bank book / bank statement showing the account number.

Application by company

  • A photocopy of either Form 9  or Form 13 and Form 49,
  • A photocopy of quit rent booklet showing proof of advance land rent paid; and
  • A photocopy of the front page of bank book / bank statement showing the account number.   

Note:

(i)  All supporting documents in items 1 and 2 must be submitted together with the relavant Form.

(ii) If the land is held jointly, all co-proprietors must fill in Form B (Consent of other registered co-proprietors).


STEP3:

Submit the duly completed Form together with all supporting documents to the nearest Land and Survey Department office.
